Responding to the challenges and new dynamics in the international tourism industry, in particular the search for authentic local experiences, the World Bank together with the Cape Verde Tourism Institute (ITCV) and the Ministry of Tourism and Transport (MTT) is supporting a pilot tourism capacity building program. It aims to provide 10 Cape Verdean small businesses, initially on the island of São Vicente, with the knowledge and tools to create and market new authentic local experiences and meet untapped demand through different travel sales channels, including digital marketplaces.
How to take part
Tourism companies selected for the pilot program are invited to complete the Market Ready Self-Assessment, which helps them to evaluate and develop the level of their business, operational, commercial and sustainability capabilities according to international criteria.
This video in Spanish explains more about the Market Ready self-assessment process.
