ACODIT ofrece tours acuáticos en las lagunas Yaxhá y Sacnab, contribuyendo al desarrollo comunitario y la conservación del territorio.
La Asociación para el Desarrollo Integral Los Tulipanes de Yaxhá (ACODIT) se dedica a ofrecer servicios turísticos relacionados con el transporte acuático y tours en los senderos acuáticos de las lagunas Yaxhá y Sacnab, en un entorno natural único. A través de su servicio de transporte en lancha, los visitantes pueden explorar diversos atractivos naturales de la región, tales como la Laguna Topoxté, la Calzada del Lago, el trayecto en lancha hacia el Museo y los fascinantes tours de avistamiento de cocodrilos y aves en la Laguna Yaxhá. Estas experiencias permiten a los turistas disfrutar de la biodiversidad local mientras aprenden sobre la riqueza natural de la zona.
ACODIT está conformada por un grupo de 13 personas asociadas, todas ellas comprometidas con el desarrollo comunitario y la promoción de un turismo sostenible que respete y conserve los recursos naturales de la región. Sus servicios no solo brindan una experiencia única a los turistas, sino que también generan ingresos que contribuyen directamente al bienestar de las familias locales.
La asociación forma parte de la Asociación de Organizaciones Comunitarias para el Desarrollo Sostenible del Territorio de Yaxhá (ASODESTY), un colectivo dedicado a la conservación de los recursos naturales y culturales de la región, y a fomentar la inversión privada y pública para fortalecer el desarrollo de la zona. Los tours y servicios de ACODIT están disponibles todos los días de la semana, de 08:00 a 17:00 horas, ofreciendo una opción única para explorar y disfrutar del ecoturismo en uno de los destinos más emblemáticos de Guatemala.

This is where they filmed Survivor: Guatemala. We got very close to howler monkeys. The sunset from the top of one of the temples of Survivor was neat. Tourist groups only come here at sunset. The entrance fee is only 80 quetzales compared to 150 quetzales at Tikal. The temples aren't quite as impressive as Tikal, but there is a beautiful view of the water here.

Had this gem all to myself. It was extremely quiet when the howler monkeys weren't roaring. I arrived at 0800 and stayed until 1600. The weather was sunny with a light sprinkle in the afternoon. The monkeys and birds were very active. The ruins were amazing to see. My fav was the lookout. Its approx 150 steps to the top but you can see the other temples. I went down to the lake and could have stayed there all day watching the bird activity. The walkways are very slippery so be careful. The trails are easy to follow with good signs just like tikal. You can arrange a tour via you hotel. No passport needed for this one. Just fill out a little piece of paper and pay cash only 80 Q. No card payment or atm so bring cash. Bring passport just in case that info changes 😉. Tikal requires passport. There's a few nature trails and gravel roads that lead off into the jungle. I found more monkeys and birds back there. Very lively place.

This park has a different energy than Tikal. Guatemalas third largest national park. The Mayan temples are stunning. The park received much less people than Tikal. Highly recommend for everyone. You can also camp here and go hiking

Super cool place! Not nearly as developed as Tikal so it has a very different feel - it's much quieter, not nearly as busy, but on the flip side the services aren't quite as good. The ruins are excellent, as was our guide Nelson, but the welcome building was half underwater (no washrooms) and the restaurant was closed. I would recommend a visit despite this if you're into Mayan ruins!

Yaxha is beautiful. My recommendation is to visit Yaxha first and Tikal second. Because Yaxha is the right level to introduce you to the Mayans for the first time. You will understand and enjoy Tikal way more, if you lay the grounds with Yaxha first.
