Somos una empresa comunitaria, orgullosamente perteneciente al pueblo originario Zapoteca, iniciamos operaciones desde el año de 1998. Nos ubicamos en San Antonio Cuajimoloyas, el territorio se encuentra a una altitud de 3,200 metros sobre el nivel del mar, ofreciendo a los visitantes una conexión profunda con la naturaleza en la Sierra Norte de Oaxaca.

Este centro ecoturístico brinda diversas actividades al aire libre, como senderismo, ciclismo de montaña, cabalgatas y observación de flora y fauna local. Además, cuenta con la tirolesa más larga del estado, con 1,000 metros de longitud y más de 120 metros de altura. Un atractivo reciente es el puente colgante iluminado de 137 metros de largo y 21 metros de altura, que ofrece un espectáculo nocturno único y vistas impresionantes. La tirolesa y el puente, proporcionan una experiencia llena de adrenalina y vistas panorámicas impresionantes.
Entre sus instalaciones, Yaa-Cuetzi ofrece cabañas acogedoras, un hotel comunitario, áreas para acampar y comedores que ofrecen gastronomía regional, incluyendo truchas frescas. Los visitantes también pueden participar en actividades culturales como talleres de herbolaria, medicina tradicional y disfrutar de temazcales. Cada año, en julio, se celebra la Feria Regional de Hongos Silvestres, donde biólogos, turistas y pobladores se reúnen para recolectar y aprender sobre diversas especies de hongos, enriqueciendo la gastronomía local y promoviendo el ecoturismo comunitario.

The cabins and team are awesome. We stayed here for a night and really enjoyed the warm showers and complimentary firewood - it gets cold in the Sierra at night! They drove us to the cabin, brought the firewood and started the fire, and generally made us feel as pampered as you can during an adventure trip.

Nice cabins well furnished and with hot water, towels and extra blankets. Can be really cold, so consider purchasing extra wood (70 pesos) for the fireplace. Only heat. Friendly staff. Long, steep uphill path to cabins from office. Sometimes internet @ office, but don’t count on it. No cell service. You’re in the mountains.

The place is beautiful. However the service info center is a disgrace. The cabins are super cold (October) and the fireplace smokes up the room instantly to a state where it's unbearable and life threatening (not kidding-we nearly fainted). After complaining and wanting to leave (we used the room for 20 minutes), they did not want to give us our money back. Also: they scam you for the park entry at the beginning... Just go to the park and don't let yourselves get exploited. Otherwise, the people in the forest and on the tracks are the kindest and most helpful. Just avoid the information center...

Beautiful place to escape the city life. For hiking you have several options: - you can go for a small 5km hike by yourself - you can get a guide who takes you on longer hikes, shows you the hidden gems and explains the landscape, flora and fauna to you - you can do guided multi day tours from village to village - and if you are experienced in way finding, navigation and hiking in general you can show them that you have the GPX track on your phone, sign a letter that you are responsible for your actions and go hike on your own. We did a 12km solo hike with a GPX track in the phone and payed 100 pesos per person for the permit. A fair price considering how much love and care the community puts into this initiative! We absolutely loved the hike! Make sure to go to one of the trout farms in the forest and enjoy some fresh fish!

We did a three day and three night Spanish language (English available too)hiking tour from Llano Grande to Cuajimoloyas to Benito Juárez. Everything was great - the cabanas, the comedors, the meals at Comedor Marlén and Comedor Mirador, the traditional medicine lesson and the hike with Israel. We appreciated the detailed written itinerary provided by Sierra Norte when we booked at their office in Oaxaca. They were flexible in addressing our interests and transportation requirements. Guides were very friendly, knowledgeable and safe.
