The Sierra Occidental and Costa brand was developed in a co-creative and participatory manner by community-based nature tourism enterprises located in the region known as Costa - Sierra Occidental, in the western part of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. Their ecosystems include temperate pine, oak and cloud forests in the highlands and jungles, mangroves and beaches on the coast. They are enterprises with a community organization that is the basis of their way of life or are led by women who promote gender equity. Their passion for the conservation of natural and cultural heritage is unique.
