Aventúrate Naranjo Sa 'al: Nature, History and Living Community

To explore Naranjo Sa 'al is to experience the authenticity of the Maya world. More than a destination, it is a community effort to preserve the cultural and natural heritage of Melchor de Mencos, Petén, promoted by the Asociación Civil Esperanza de Petén (ACEP).

Our story began with the vision of supporting people with disabilities. In 2019, a committed team consolidated the association, strengthening community tourism and local quality of life. In 2021, we became co-administrators of the Naranjo Sa 'al Archaeological Site together with ASODESTY and CONAP. In addition, our integration with ACOFOP has allowed us to certify 11 community guides with INTECAP and INGUAT.

In 2023, we launched Antojitos ACEP, a gastronomic venture that generates employment and supports community events.

Our vision is to grow through training, infrastructure improvement and innovation in order to consolidate our position as a model of sustainable tourism.

We promote employment generation, environmental conservation and cultural tourism, ensuring the continuity of our mission.

Every visit contributes to the local wellbeing and preservation of the Mayan legacy - find out more!
